Wall Street
Wall Street is located in the lower Manhattan section of New York City. In practice, it is used as an overarching term to describe the U.S. financial markets and the publicly traded companies that trade on the U.S. stock exchanges.
The street's name refers to a wall (now non-existent) built by the Dutch settlers in the 17th century to keep out the British and pirates.
